I was just asked to briefly explain a couple of the projection systems I have mentioned in my recent posts. The best summary I have seen of current projections systems is on Fangraphs. Rather than trying to summarize them all on this blog, I will simply insert the link to this site so you can read the summaries on your own (see webpage).
One system that is not mentioned on fangraphs is Steamer Projections (see webpage). This is another system that seems to be dead at this point. The last update on their site was for 2010 pitchers and hitters. That being said, they had a great forecast evaluation in 2009 that I linked to in a previous post.
